This web site is run by the Floyd Hill Property Owners
Association (FHAPOA).
FHAPOA is a voluntary organization of homeowners supporting community activities that benefit us all.
FHAPOA Goals & Accomplishments
According to the Floyd Hill Property Owners
Association by-laws, "The purpose of this organization is to take a proactive
interest in the welfare, education, and civic matters of the property owners and
residents…"
Accomplishments:
During 2008, your association worked very hard to
support this purpose. Issues addressed in 2008 include:
- Idaho Springs annexation
- Water rights vis-ŕ-vis developments and changing county plans
- Master Plan for Clear Creek County
- Noise reduction from I-70
- Secondary access to/from Floyd Hill (e.g., to CR 65)
- Wildfire danger, mitigation and emergency notification
- Initiation of the Be Aware, Drive With Care program
- Activities (Garage Sale, Picnic, Chipper Rental, Holiday Party, …)
Looking forward into 2009, we will face many similar
issues, involving water rights, land use, annexation, and fire mitigation. We
can expect an ongoing interest on the part of potential developers for the land
at the entrance to our community in the coming year. We will have to be
particularly vigilant and active to make sure that any developments meet our
needs as well as the interests of the developers, and that our safety and water
rights are protected.

It is our desire to protect the value of our
investments in our homes, protect the quality of life that we sought when we
moved here, and to insure continued safety for us and for our loved ones in the
event of a disaster. To that extent we created a budget for 2009 that includes
an all-important reserve fund (with a balance) to be carried forward and used in
the event of any serious action that threatens our way of life.
We also plan to support activities that improve the
quality of our life here on the hill. It looks like we will break ground for the
Elmgreen Park playground near the high school in May. Also, we will continue to
support fun and useful activities like the chipper to clear brush and trees,
seedling planting program, the community garage sale, our summer picnic, and a
Halloween Party.
