We are evaluating surfacing roads (pavement, chipseal, recycled asphalt, ABC, etc) based on many factors including road classification, grade/slope, exposure (sun), available right-of-way, average daily traffic (ADT) volume, etc. This plan should be completed before our next semi-annual meeting. It was explained that the plan time frame was approximately 10 years and would be adjusted as needs arise.
More up to date scheduling can be obtained on Clear Creek County’s website at the R&B section "Service Clear Map"
Further discussion included the engineer attempting to make use of recycled asphalt as a better material for road topping.
Because of the adjustment to the height of the roads because of "In Sloping" the county will be responsible for adjusting mail boxes in the future.
Property Owners Comments. It was suggested that property owners help with constructing catch basins ahead of driveway culverts and the county equipment not destroying them.
At this point there was discussion about the amount of road base removed when snow plowing, and the present policy of plowing down to the dirt or below will continue unless we as a HOA can get a consensus from residents that the R & B will not scrape the road base and drop sand instead of plowing when there is a minimal amount of snow fall, i.e. 2" or more.
Future Meetings. All of the Floyd Hill area HOA’s will meet with the Road and Bridge Department in the Spring, (Feb or March), and in the fall, (Oct.) This was the general scope of the meeting and those attending felt that the addition of an engineer was money well spent by the county. We will schedule a meeting with the other HOA’s before we meet again in February.
Respectfully Submitted Pat Aiello, Chairman, Road Committee.
