Floyd Hill Area Property Owners’ Association Meeting Minutes Fire Station U.S. 40 Thursday, January 28, 2010 Presentation: 7:00 – 7:30 pm: SOLVE Discussion/Update – Jim White & Mike Chevarria SOLVE has been around for years; a non-profit (501H) with a right to lobby. The goal is to save open lands and vistas, the environment and promote sustainable land use. Not much activity over the past five years, however, newly activated during the recent planning meetings. This is a county wide group with monthly meetings. Currently SOLVE is raising public awareness of the groups mission and is promoting membership county wide. SOLVE’s next meeting is February 16. Top two projects: 1) Support of land owners around Eclipse Ski Area 2) More complete education program for policy makers around goal issues. Business Meeting: Call to Order: FHAPOA President, Josh Lewis, called the Business Meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
Minutes from December 13, 2009 meeting: (as posted at www.FloydHill.org) The minutes were approved as written by a motion from Jim White, seconded by Mike Chevarria. Treasurer’s Report:
The budget for 2009 was $5,205.00 and 2009 FHAPOA expenses were under budget by $2,969.76. The fall Chipper weekend broke even (rented chipper costs $60/hour + fuel) with 47 stops. Committee Reports: Road Committee: No report. However, there was discussion around the off-ramp East bound I-70 at Floyd Hill. Speed and momentum can make it difficult to stop. SUV went through guard rail on bridge, but did not go over. After this discussion, next day, safety barrels were placed on the bridge. Neighborhood Roadway Safety Committee: Report by Kris Kinzli Kris Lee working with county (Sheriff and Road & Bridge) to have a Spring kick-off for safe driving. Emergency Notification Committee: No update Development Committee: Report by Jim White Getting Level 2 out of the master plan was a success. It took the entire community 3 times to get it done.Water Response Committee: Jim White, This issue is quiet at this time.Activities Committee: Report by Kris Kinzli Kris Lee suggested organizing a “Floyd Hill Recycles” week on Floyd Hill, bringing in dumpsters, providing suggestions for recycling, “free-recycle” resources and ways to dispose of hazardous materials. Late Spring.Community Wildfire Protection Plan Committee Report by Josh Lewis Currently looking at neighborhood maps and constructing a master list of mitigation suggestions from the current Evergreen CWPP and the Clear Creek County CWPP. The last meeting had three representatives from the US Forest Service and the CCC Fire Chief was also in attendance.
Closure and Next Meeting: The next FHAPOA meeting will be scheduled for March 23rd at 7:00 pm at the Fire Station on U.S. Route 40. Josh Lewis motioned to close the meeting and Jim White seconded the motion.
